Coretta Scott King, the widow of Dr. Martin Luther King has died. She was 78. Mrs. King died in her sleep last night. She had been in declining health since suffering a stroke last August. The stroke left her weakened on her right side, unable to walk, and barely able to speak. She had been recovering at home since her stroke and was last seen in public when she made a surprise appearance at a fundraiser on what would have been her Dr. King's 77th birthday earlier this month. She smiled from her wheelchair as she was greeted with a standing ovation and applause from a crowd of 15-hundred at the Salute to Greatness Dinner at the King Center.
Prayers go out to their family. Rest in peace Mrs. King. You will be missed.
