Oprah, Whoopie & Chris Trace Roots

Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg and Chris Tucker are getting the chance to trace their roots in Africa as part of a new documentary series.

Henry Louis Gates helps the stars uncover hidden truths about their ancestors in new TV special called "African American Lives".

Oprah was moved to tears during the taping of her segment on the show when handed a rediscovered deed of a land transaction between a white Mississippi landowner and one of her ancestors, a freed slave. For Chris Tucker's part on the show, DNA was used to trace his ancestral roots to Africa, leading him to visit the village his family hails from.
